Yes, it’s true. It’s goodbye PC; hello iMac.

Our toy came home yesterday evening while I was out on my harrowing skiing adventure–more on that in a separate post. Within 10 minutes of opening the box, what’s-a-computer Kurtis had created his profile, created an avatar using the built-in webcam, and reacquainted himself with PokerStars.net (now for Mac). Very impressive.
My priorities were a little different. Fiddled with iPhoto, installed Adium, and tested iChat’s video capabilities with Jason into the wee hours of the night. Next installations include Adobe CS3 and MS Office 2008.
But someone please teach me keyboard shortcuts! I am lost without them…

HAHAHA – easy, right?!
OK, just think … CTRL = Apple, ALT = option, SHIFT = SHIFT … should get you started in discovering some of the shortcuts … you know where to find me for more general & also CS3 shortcuts.
I may need to borrow some things from you … if you don’t mind … i’m still patiently awaiting the MacBook Pro upgrade … and my “old” powerbook is feeling just a bit not up to snuff …

Hi Karen,
I think your business card may have been dropped from my jacket. Anyhow, I hope you don’t mind that I email you from your website. Pretty nice website. I love all the food photos. I also noticed you like to crochet. I just crocheted a couple of fortune cookies to insert some birthday present jewelry that I made for friends turning 40. I have also crocheted flowered/beaded necklaces. I like many crafts. Two of my favourite sites are Craftzine and Supereggplant. I also like the bento sites, knitting, sewing, Craftychica, etc. I really need to finish all my half-done projects.
I also noticed that you like Latin music. Have you ever heard of Manu Chao’s Rainin in Paradize? Check it out on Seeqpod.com. I spend way too much time on Seeqpod.
You know that West End Com Centre rink – same thing happened to me! Except this was on a rainy Saturday at 6:30 am. My son just started a powerskate class and we circled the building for quite some time. And then the door from the parkade was locked, so I had get back through the ramp.
Good luck with your Mac. My husband is a Mac person. We are a Mac family. He actually owned the very first model.
See you on Monday,
Joanne

Hi Karen,
Really sorry to bother you with this…I can’t seem to get through on your info@karenhamilton.ca email address on your website (which is what I meant to do, instead of actually posting a public comment). I have never posted before. My husband hates spam and now I feel pretty stupid. Could you please remove my last name from your website? My email address seems to also autofill in the comments box… I hope that doesn’t show up when other people view your website. If so, could you please remove my email address? Do you have a regular email address (that works and not is used publicly for your blog?) that I can write to you?
Thanks,
Joanne

Hi Joanne,
Removed your email and last name from your previous comment. That info email address should work now (looks like I forgot to set it up on my new webhost when I moved a few months ago).
Alternatively, you can reach me at karenhamilton at alumni dot sfu dot ca.
