With Kurt’s 2nd CA module in full swing, it’s been difficult to get some time to blog when I’m in the rambling mood. Tonight is more of a forced ramble, so I’ll keep it in point form.
Career-wise:
-New job as Warehouse Manager: yay Dad!
-New job with North Shore Law: yay Elizabeth!
-New job/contract with EA: yay Dave!
-New contract with Teekay: yay Chris!
-New lucrative design contract: yay Jay!
-New job with Sierra Systems: yay Jonny!
-New role administering databases and websites (Sept): yay me!
Events-wise:
-Reconnected with Adrian while he was in town
-Enjoyed another dinner with coworkers and learned the difference between pumas and cougars
-Laughed our asses off watching “40-year old virgin”
-Enjoyed a free Wide Mouth Mason concert (thanks Mike)
-Had a great housewarming last night…will elaborate once Lawrence sends over the pics
-Looking forward to watching “As You Like It” on Saturday with Tereza and Albert
Salsa-wise:
-Met some great folks at the Wednesday toonie socials at Urban Beat Dance Co.
-Found out exactly how flexible my back is (and how my hamstrings REALLY aren’t)
-Got mauled by various shady dance hall lurkers: Texas cowboy, trio of “ballers”, octagenarian beady-eyed men
-Considering learning bachata and rueda from Diego Sanchez, now that Dave tells me he’s the same Diego I knew in high school
Other-wise:
-My salsa buddy in crime will be even further away soon, as she is leaving dear ol’ Winnipeg for a fast-paced Euro-discovery holiday. Bon voyage Mel!
-People watching is great here. Especially like seeing commuters speed-biking to work in full suit & tie attire. I love living downtown!
-Don’t you hate it when you get a song in your head that you can’t get rid of until you sing it enough times? Unfortunately, the songs in my head aren’t in English. I need a lyrics sheet, Span-Eng dictionary, and 5 minutes per word before I can even begin the singout. Grrr. If you are Spanish-inclined, check out the posts under “letras” and help a girl out.

I once had ‘Puff the Magic Dragon’ stuck in my head for 8 months…
